The Stark Mountain Foundation will be sponsoring the 6th Annual StorySki on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 10:30 to 2:30. The StorySki is based on the idea of the StoryWalk, a project that originated in Montpelier at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and has spread throughout the world. Laminated pages from a children’s book are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail, you’re directed to the next page in the story. It was created as a way for children to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. Participating children will be able to ski, read, and enjoy this year’s book, Ten on the Sled, by Kim Norman, illustrated by Liza Woodruff.

Pre-registration for the event is strongly encouraged. The event is free, but everyone will need a lift ticket to participate. Saturday’s StorySki has been moved to Eaton’s Run due to the weather forecast. The Stark Mountain Foundation will set up at the entrance to Eaton’s Run, StorySki panels will be displayed along the edge of Eaton’s Run all the way down to the entrance to the Moosewood Snowshoe Trail. Hot chocolate and stuffed animals will be given away from the deck of the Basebox. Check-in begins at 10.30 AM at the to of Eaton’s Run off of the Practice Slope. The event will run as scheduled from 10:30 until 2:30.
