“Music and Poetry” Concert at First Congregational Church of Berlin

September 7 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

On Sunday September 7 at 4 pm, Christopher McWilliams and friends will present  “Music and Poetry” at First Congregational Church of Berlin (1808 Scott Hill Road, Berlin VT 05602) where Christopher is Music Director.

Joining Christopher for the concert are Denise Ricker (flute), Kailea Silvers (cello), Lotta Suter (violin), Arthur Zorn (baritone) and Stuart Williams (bass). The program celebrates summer and the coming change of seasons with music ranging from Yukie Smith’s “Scent of Summer” to “Fisherman’s Song” by Jean Sibelius. Other composers whose music is featured in the concert include Robert Schumann, Isaac Albeniz, Felix Mendelssohn and Franz Liszt.

The musicians will also present two pieces by Christopher McWilliams: “En Septembre” from his “Tableaux d’une exposition”, and his two-movement “Trio for Flute, Violin and Piano based on two poems by France Preseren”. Admission is free, with donations to benefit Capstone Community Action. The concert will be followed by a reception in the FCCB Community Hall, including the opportunity to view the new exhibition of photographs by Nancy Fowler and Nancie Austin-Bradley.
