Staycations, microadventures, homegrown challenges… what does it mean to find adventure in your own backyard? In a time of uncertainty, and with clear climate consequences to far-flung adventures, how do we find joy and create memories in the place we call home?

Join Friends of the Mad River, the Mad River Valley Backcountry Coalition, and Sugarbush, with sponsorship from Protect Our Winters (POW) in an exploration of Homegrown Adventure. Come hear stories from outdoor enthusiasts and expert shredders on how they pursue their passion without traveling to the ends of the earth. And, if you’re game, share your own adventures in an Open Mic storytelling component of the evening. You’ll also have a chance to connect with other backcountry enthusiasts, as we work to identify goals and actions that let us pursue our passion while also taking action on the climate crisis.
