KS Coffee Anniversary Bash

July 12 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Date/Time: Festivities will be July 12, 9am-1pm, but the tiny coffeehouse will open regular time at 7:30.

Location: 8 Vermont Route 17, Waitsfield (Afterthoughts and Valley Meade parking lot)

Parking & Restroom: Please park directly across the street behind the Localfolk/Welcome Center building in the Mad River Path trail and Rec Hub public parking lot. This is also where you’ll find the Yestermorrow built composting toilet available for public use. It’s the nicest outhouse ever!

Kids, Dogs, & Safety: This is a family friendly event, but we ask that parents monitor their kids well because this is being held in a high traffic location. The location is a parking lot with other businesses functioning during this event and it is positioned at the intersection of 2 state highways! You know we love all the pups, but please leave dogs at home, with the exception of service dogs who are of course always welcome!

Weather: This is a rain or shine event, but will be cancelled or postponed if torrential rain, intense wind, or thunderstorms are predicted. In the event of severe weather, cancellation would be called by 8am on July 12th, and announced on Instagram and Facebook.

What’s Happening: There will be a musician’s tent, a crafting tent for kids (and adults), an artisan’s goods tent, and a Peaceburger food tent, in addition to the tiny house. An area to accommodate all of this will be flagged off in the parking lot. If weather and space allows, there will be Cornhole set up. Seating is limited.

Music Set Times:

9:00 -10:00 Rock Wall (cross-genre acoustic guitarist and bass guitarist)

10:30 – 11:30 Ridgeline (traditional Irish, Scottish, and Cape Breton instrumental)

12:00- 1:00 Murdock (solo modular synthesizer artist)

Food/Drink: Peaceburger will be serving breakfast burritos! KS Coffee will have menu specials, and free cupcakes from Red Poppy Cakery while they last. Cold water will be available on-site for folks to grab themselves.

Artisans (please be prepared to pay by cash or Venmo):

Wild Sings The Bird – Local Waitsfield apothecary and certified herbalist specializing in distilled herbal tinctures, bitters, smokeable herbal blends, medicinal teas, and personal care fragrance sprays, bath salts, beard care, & more. Allison, the proprietor, has a wealth of herbalism knowledge to share.

RobinJoanArt – Long time artist and dear friend, Robin, will be offering provocative little canvases with hopeful messages coded throughout, as well as up-cycled furniture once discarded by others, but given new life and better purpose by her skilled handy work and attention to detail. All of Robin’s pieces are filled with intense energy, are literally plastered with love and insight, and inspire us all to have “courage my love.”

Woodcraft Farm – Local Waitsfield farm and plant nursery, offering native Vermont pollinator friendly perennials, culinary and medicinal herbs and roots, cured herbs, tinctures, and perennial landscaping knowledge. Kevin is intentional in his plantings, constantly educating himself on old and new agricultural traditions and science, listening and considering how the land calls out to be nurtured, and methodically curating plants to find those that symbiotically thrive with the land and ecosystem he is cultivating.

There will also be sustainably produced illustrated prints, cards, and patches from Middlebury based As Little Cooking As Possible for sale by KS Coffee, as well as reusable straws and stickers made by K of KS Coffee.

Why Celebrate? KS Coffee has been in business since June 2017 (8 years), roasting for wholesale, retail, farmer’s market/pop ups, and more recently opened the tiny coffeehouse 2 years ago on July 5th. We’ve never celebrated, so why not now? It’s also an excellent opportunity to say THANK YOU to all of our customers old and new for ongoing support of this tiny venture trying to make positive waves in our community and the lives of coffee farmers abroad.
