The CHIMERA Art Co-Lab is an annual experimental choreographic residency at Waitsfield’s historic Stowell Barn. This summer’s residency culminates in a performance of New Works presented by Phantom Theater at Edgcomb Barn in Warren, VT.

The CHIMERA Art Co-Lab launched in 2022 and was established as an embodiment of hybridization: from the creative venue, to the artistic process and product. At the time of its inception, returning to in-person creation and performance seemed an unrealizable dream; the CHIMERA Art Co-Lab continues annually as a way to celebrate bringing together artistic bodies and minds in a creative space.

At this year’s week-long residency, Farmsprung Gatherings reports that the Co-Lab is expanding to include former students of the founding members.
Original Artists in Residence Amy C. Foley of MA, Stephanie Simpson of NYC, Larissa D. Ursprung of VT, and Stephen Ursprung of RI, return to create a new work-in-progress in collaboration with the newest CHIMERA Artists: Katie Bogardus of NY, Syra Pandey of MA, and Kaylen Travison of NY.
In addition to this new work, the company will re-stage the 2022 Co-Lab work “The Space[s] We Hold” which premiered at Phantom Theater and was recently re-staged at Dean College.
