SUMMARY:Keep Up Good Courage (an original play)
DESCRIPTION:This play tells the story of MRV Union soldiers\, through their correspondence with loved ones \, of what happened during their nine month stay in Virginia from 1862-63. As they were looking forward to returning home in June\, they were instead ordered to march North and found themselves engaged in an extraordinary battle. This story is a testament to the13th regiment who helped turn the tide of the war. The Songbird Project will provide musical accompaniment\, with original and favorite Civil War era tunes.

Anyone who has attended any of our shows knows the talent of Mister Burns\, but this is going to be epic paired up with a hip hop icon. \nAfroman is an incredible hip hop artist that puts on one of the best live performances that you will ever see. Afroman’s best-known song is the 2001 hit “Because I Got High”\, which gained popularity through Napster\, local radio play\, a feature on Howard Stern’s radio show\, and the ‘stoner’ movie ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’ (and accompanying soundtrack). His other most popular song\, “Crazy Rap”\, is often referred to as “Colt 45” because of its lyric “Colt 45 and two Zig Zags”.Afroman is also fond of referencing his independence from record labels and the “corporate world” and cites himself as an example of how an artist can take recording and distribution into their own hands.\nIn 2014 Afroman became a spokesman for NORML and Weedmaps\, remade “Because I Got High” in favor of legalization\, and released the EP “One Hit Wonder” and concept album “The Frorider.” http://www.afromanmuzzicc.
