SUMMARY:John Anderson Exhibit at MRV Arts
DESCRIPTION:What’s the big idea? As a freshman in college\, my first grade on a paper was a D-\nminus. When I spoke to the professor about my failure\, he told me I knew the\nmaterial\, the facts\, but had no Big Idea. This was a huge lesson then and has\nremained so ever since. \nConcept\, line and space drive the inquiry in my creative practice\, both as an architect\nand as an artist. In my work\, both line and space are constructed to serve an imagined — even\nirrational — beginning (The Big Idea). A conceptual narrative takes shape\, a backstory\nmight develop\, a fantasy or a metaphor might direct the path of the project. As I\nproceed in my design process a kind of acceptance of a new reality starts to inform\nme and a dialogue of choices and decisions take off.

SUMMARY:The Vagina Monologues
DESCRIPTION:Lost Nation Theater is thrilled to be partnering with Mosaic Vermont to bring this ground-breaking theatrical experience to central Vermont once again! Directed by Jeanne Beckwith\, Eve Ensler’s hilarious\, eye-opening journey into the “forbidden zone” gives voice to a chorus of powerful and thoroughly human stories. For mature audiences of All Genders. Masks are strongly encouraged. February 16 & 17 at Lost Nation Theater; February 23 & 24 at locations TBA. The Flood made LNT/City Hall’s elevator inoperable\, requiring climbing stairs to attend in person. The play will be performed at alternative locations on February 23 – 24 to make the show accessible to those unable to physically join us at LNT. We appreciate your understanding during this emergency situation.

SUMMARY:Poet’s Choice
DESCRIPTION:What if an angel offered a choice between a lifetime of happiness or fame and fortune as a result of expressing  art? That is the question that Margaret (Sarah Storjohann\, Barre)\, a poet\, writer\, and English professor\, must face in this World Premier play by Vermonter Mary Pratt. Pem (Susan Lonyd\, Fayston)\, a fallen angel chosen by God (Cynthia Seckler\, Fayston) and Satan (Gabrielle Tamasi\, Barre) themselves to settle this wager\, comes to earth to find an artist to pose this question to\, with admittance to heaven and wings or hell and a flamethrower on the line for Pem. The show also features Sarah DeBouter (Berlin)\, Wes Olds (Graniteville)\, and Carrie Phillips (Waterbury). Bridget Edwards (Winooski) is the Stage Manager and the show is directed by Doug Bergstein (Waitsfield). \nShow dates/times are Fridays & Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm\, March 8-17.
Tickets are $18 for evenings and $14 for Sunday matinees. Go to http://valleyplayers.com to buy tickets in advance.
