DESCRIPTION:Mad River Valley Arts and the Valley Artist Guild have teamed up to produce the 34th annual Green Mountain Photo Show at the Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm and Forest\, 48 Lareau Road in Waitsfield. Think Outside the Frame is the thematic focus this year\, encouraging photographers to employ experimental photo practices and presentations. \nThe exhibit shows September 8 to October 13\, Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 to 9:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 9:00. Entry is free to all. The public can meet the photographers at the Opening Reception on September 8th from 5:00-7:00 pm. \nPast years have included works on paper\, metal and glass\, framed and unframed\, using film and digital formats and a wide variety of manipulation in printing. Each exhibitor may display up to three pieces plus a small works piece. More information regarding participating is available at madrivervalleyarts.org under Exhibitions. \nVolunteers and exhibiting photographers are needed to chaperone the show. DESCRIPTION:Old Round Church Concert Series \nThe Old Round Church 2024 Concert Series continues on September 21st at 7 PM in the Old Round Church located on Round Church Road in Richmond. The featured performers will be the band Mama Tried\, an all-gal bluegrass\, country folk and blues string band. This Vermont-based band features Rebecca Padula’s smokin’ vocals\, Linda Kallinger’s fine fiddlin’\, “Ukulele” Clare Innes on the uke and banjo\, and Kathy Mulligan laying down the bassline. Enjoy new and old favorites that’ll have you humming all the way home. Suggested donation of $15 to benefit the upkeep of the Old Round Church and the projects of the Richmond Historical Society. For music we will have Ragged Company playing from 2:30-4:30pm and Pappy Biondo and The Pards will play from 5 till dark. For food vendors we will have Alladins Food Truck\, Union Brook Farm and Yuko’s Wildflower Sushi:) For refreshments you can count on Lawson’s for tasty beers and Bar Hill Gin will be here as well! There will be kids activities and an opportunity to bring your own\, clean t-shirt to get the EWCM logo printed on it for a small fee. Bring chairs\, blankets and umbrellas (just in case) and tell all of your friends.
