DESCRIPTION:The Mad Collective is proud to share ‘Stardust’\, an exhibition about The Quantum World. \nThe Quantum World is one of uncertainty. One can’t really talk about where a quantum object is\, we can only talk about where we might find it. Yet\, our seemingly solid reality is built upon this tiny world of possibilities\, stuff has form\, the universe has form and we are solid. \nThis show looks at the behavior of photons\, particles and mysterious patterns of quantum phenomena. It inspires us to think about the magic of the quantum fundamental basis to reality and asks us to be curious about where the human species is going. Artists open up to their interpretation of the immaterial while engaging with the scales of the unimaginable tiny to the infinitely large.

Keeping the work up-to-the-minute\, the show will evolve over the course of the summer. \nIn Peter Schumann’s words:”We human beasts\, descendants of revenge and elimination gods\, and of the gods of love who preach by killing love\, how can we survive while our very own evil empire promotes incinerations and starvation warfare and supreme inhumanity is performed in front of our eyes? Dive into the raw\, emotional\, and electric world of performers chasing their dreams as they navigate the vulnerability of putting yourself out there\, the fear of rejection\, and the need for validation\, both on and off the stage. \nWe are excited for the chance to experience so much talent in our community during the audition process. The artistic team is striving to cast the right person for the role\, regardless of gender\, race\, age\, ethnicity\, or body type. Please review the character descriptions on our website for guidelines around stage age range\, gender\, and specific skills needed by role. DESCRIPTION:Sundays\, July 13-August 31 at 3pm \nThe company presents Our Domestic Revolution in Progress\, a brand new show in the tradition of the iconic Bread & Puppet Circuses that began at Goddard College in Plainfield\, Vermont in 1970.  As usual\, the show will draw on traditional circus tropes and familiar Bread and Puppet iconography to draw attention to the urgent issues of the day. Stilt dancers\, paper maché beasts of all sizes and a riotous brass band make a raucous\, colorful spectacle of protest and celebration. \nAfter the show Bread & Puppet will serve its famous sourdough rye bread with aioli\, and Bread & Puppet’s “Cheap Art” – books\, posters\, postcards\, pamphlets and banners from the Bread & Puppet Press – will be for sale prior and after the show. \nTickets: $15\, no one turned away for lack of funds.\nhttps://breadandpuppet.org/on-the-farm \nDogs are discouraged\, though well behaved dogs on leash are allowed. SUMMARY:Feel the Wheel Pottery Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Here’s your chance to try your hand at the potter’s wheel! This workshop will be offered the last Friday of every month (most months). \nThis is a one time\, two hour introduction to learn the basics of wheel throwing. \nYou will be guided from a ball of clay to your first bowl or cup. Using a simple to understand process\, you will learn the foundational techniques needed to enjoy this meditative and somewhat magical craft. Most students will successfully throw at least 2 pots which will be fired and finished by us\, ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks. \nIf you throw more than 2 that you would like to keep we can finish them as well for $15/pot (first 2 are included). Shipping is available for additional fees.
