He also toured for many years in Bombino’s band\, the Tuareg guitar hero from Niger. Highlight performances include Coachella\, New Orleans Jazz Fest\, Carnegie Hall\, and Lincoln Center.

SUMMARY:Vermont Women & the Civil War presented by Historian Howard Coffin
DESCRIPTION:Vermont’s remarkable Civil War battlefield record is well documented\, But little is known of how Vermont women sustained the home front. \nWith nearly 35\,000 of the state’s able-bodied men at war\, the monumental tasks of keeping more than 30\,000 farms in operation became very much a female enterprise. And women took the place of men in factories and worked after hours making items needed by the soldiers. \nVermont women served as nurses in the state’s military hospitals and in the war zone. This story is told in their words\, from letters and diaries that describe life during the Civil War in the Green Mountain State.

This workshop will be offered the last Friday of every month (most months). \nThis is a one time\, two hour introduction to learn the basics of wheel throwing. \nYou will be guided from a ball of clay to your first bowl or cup. Using a simple to understand process\, you will learn the foundational techniques needed to enjoy this meditative and somewhat magical craft. Most students will successfully throw at least 2 pots which will be fired and finished by us\, ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks. \nIf you throw more than 2 that you would like to keep we can finish them as well for $15/pot (first 2 are included). Shipping is available for additional fees.
