DESCRIPTION:The Mad River Valley Rotary Club is back with more quacktastic fun with the Great Duck Race of 2024! \nThe Great Duck Race happens Sunday\, September 1st at Lareau Park Swimming Hole (6051 Vermont Rte 100\, Waitsfield) from 2-4pm. We’ll have fun kids activities and more with the first duck race starting at 3pm. \nTickets are on sale now to “adopt” a duck to race for a chance to win cash prizes of up to $1000! Each duck is $5 or to increase your chances of winning\, consider checking out the bundle packages. Ticket Sales are kicking off 6/28 in front of Mehuron’s from 3-5pm (Every Friday) and at the Waitsfield Farmer’s Market on Saturday’s from 9-1pm. You can also purchase online at https://mrvrotary.rallyup.com/duckrace2024/ \nAnd if one duck race isn’t enough\, we’ve added the Mad Duck 100 for those who really want to roll the duck dice. The Mad Duck 100 will be limited to 100 ducks and tickets are $100/each. The prize for this race is a whopping $1500! That’s a lot of ducking money! \nWhen you “adopt” a duck for either race\, you are supporting the Mad River Valley Rotary Club as well as the many programs\, events and community projects they support. These include The Warren 4th of July Parade\, the Mad River Valley Dog Park\, Rise Against Hunger\, Neck of the Woods\, Habitat for Humanity\, grants and scholarships for local students and many\, many more! SUMMARY:Big Red Barn Arts Show
DESCRIPTION:The show originated in 1997 with 10 artists showing their work in the Warren Village Town Hall\, now occupied by the Warren Library. Seeking more space to accommodate the growing number of participants\, as well as to facilitate planning for the library\, the show moved to the Red Barn Galleries in 2003\, courtesy of owner George Schenk. The annual show now averages more than 30 participants with professional\, amateur and “Sunday” artists and artisans participating. \nThe un-juried show\, sponsored by the Valley Artists Guild\, is open to any artist or artisan crafter over the age of 18 living in the towns of the Mad River watershed. Applications for displaying work in the 2024 Big Red Barn Art Show just closed\, but artists wishing to be on the list for next year’s show are welcome to contact Dotty Kyle at 802-496-4789 or westhill@gmavt.net
