Join us for the Mad River Valley Community Job Fair\, where local organizations will come together to share meaningful opportunities to get involved and give back. \nYou’ll have a chance to meet with representatives from groups doing important work in our Valley\, including:• Mad River Mentoring• Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce• stewardMRV• MRV Rotary Club• MRV Ambulance Service• The Knotweed Project• Local Town Conservation Commissions…and more! \nTo deepen the weekend’s theme of civic engagement\, we’re also hosting a special screening of the feature documentary Join or Die—a compelling look at the half-century decline of American civic life through the work of renowned social scientist Robert Putnam\, author of Bowling Alone. The film explores three pressing questions: \n\n\nWhat makes democracy work? \n\n\nWhy is American democracy in crisis? \n\n\nMost importantly—what can we do about it? \n\n\nThe documentary features voices from Hillary Clinton\, Pete Buttigieg\, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy\, Eddie Glaude Jr.\, Raj Chetty\, Priya Parker\, and many grassroots leaders working to rebuild community across the country. \nDetails for the screening are coming soon—stay tuned! \nLet’s come together to strengthen our Valley and reimagine what civic life can look like.
