SUMMARY:How Low Can We Go? – Modern Airtightness Targets in Multifamily Housing with Nate Gusakov\, Green Mountain Enclosure Consulting\, LLC. (Yestermorrow Fall Speaker Series)
DESCRIPTION:Driven by code\, available incentives\, and forward-thinking design teams\, many of the recent or upcoming large multifamily new construction projects in Vermont are targeting (and usually achieving) airtightness levels that approach those of certified PHIUS buildings. Using examples from local case studies\, this presentation gives an overview of the current journey towards ultra-airtightness in large buildings including challenges\, lessons learned\, and thoughts on the future. \nFall Speaker Series: Innovative Homes\nThis talk is presented as part of our Fall 2025 Speaker Series. All talks are free and open to the public\, and take place Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 pm. No registration required\, just drop by. \nTwice a year\, we curate a series of lectures on a design/build theme. This Fall we are tackling part two of our “Innovative Homes” series\, this time focusing in on multi-family homes. We’ll discuss different ways cities and towns are approaching sustainable housing development and affordability through case studies of unique living spaces.
