DESCRIPTION:Mad River Valley Arts and the Valley Artist Guild have teamed up to produce the 34th annual Green Mountain Photo Show at the Red Barn Galleries at Lareau Farm and Forest\, 48 Lareau Road in Waitsfield. Think Outside the Frame is the thematic focus this year\, encouraging photographers to employ experimental photo practices and presentations. \nThe exhibit shows September 8 to October 13\, Thursdays and Fridays from 4:00 to 9:00 and Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 9:00. Entry is free to all. The public can meet the photographers at the Opening Reception on September 8th from 5:00-7:00 pm. \nPast years have included works on paper\, metal and glass\, framed and unframed\, using film and digital formats and a wide variety of manipulation in printing. Each exhibitor may display up to three pieces plus a small works piece. More information regarding participating is available at madrivervalleyarts.org under Exhibitions. \nVolunteers and exhibiting photographers are needed to chaperone the show. SUMMARY:MRVBC Trail Work Day Catamount Section 19s
DESCRIPTION:The Mad River Valley is extremely fortunate to have access to one of the most incredible backcountry recreation opportunities in Vermont – the Phen Basin. As a chapter of the Catamount Trail Association\, MRVBC has committed to the care and management of access to this resource by adopting section 19S from the Battleground condominiums north to the Long Trail in Huntington Gap. This commitment includes organizing an annual Fall Trail Work day where volunteers have an opportunity to help ensure continued access by working to maintain the trail and its features. \nWith several bridges\, a consistent slope\, unique natural features\, and beautiful views\, this section provides excellent access for non-motorized wintertime use. Come explore the trail while helping to keep it in good shape. In addition to the work\, there is always a lot of laughs\, good stories\, and some pre-skiing stoke with parking-lot libations. This year work will focus on sight line clearing\, blazing\, water bars\, and lopper work higher up the trail. SUMMARY:Little One & Me Yoga
DESCRIPTION:This gentle and fun yoga class is designed specifically for a parent or caregiver and their children\, ages 18 months to 4 years. Older children are welcome too! \nPoses like butterfly\, downward dog\, tree\, forest\, bug\, cat\, cow and lion will bring smiles and creativity. They also promote balance\, coordination\, motor skills and mindfulness. Through visuals and words\, e will introduce and/or reinforce mechanisms for movement\, independence and stress relief. And of course … some giggles too. \nBrought to you in partnership: Inklings Children’s Books and Salt & Sand Studios. Salt & Sand’s Karen McPhillips will lead the yoga. She is a fully certified Yoga Alliance 500-hour instructor and 200-hour educational provider.
