DESCRIPTION:Created and sponsored by Seven Days and KidsVT\, this challenge asks participants to find the answers to some questions about their community\, and to consider what we can do when we work together\, the impact we can have and the messages we can send to each other about how we should act. We will focus on completing one of the challenges listed on the bingo card. Finish a row of five activities and receive a Good Citizen sticker and patch\, a pocket-sized U.S. Constitution\, and an invitation to a fall reception at the Vermont Statehouse\, with special recognition given to those who fill in their whole card. Best for elementary/middle-school-aged children. Part of the Mad River Libraries “All Together Now” summer learning program.

But folks still need help and the Mad River Valley is answering the call. Head up to Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak Courtyard on Sunday\, September 17th for a full day of food\, drink\, and live music featuring Sara Star and the Men from Mars\, Guitfiddle\, Phineas Gage\, Running in Circles\, Kind Bud\, Abby Jenne and the Enablers\, and Ragged Company. Doors at 11:00 AM with first notes at noon. Advanced tickets are just $20; day-of $25. \n100% of ticket proceeds goes to the Vermont Community Foundation’s VT Flood Response & Recovery Fund along with a portion of food and beverage sales from the day courtesy of the Be Better Here Fund. Live raffles between sets will feature Sugarbush season passes and lift tickets\, as well as gifts from partners and community members including Lawson’s Finest Liquids\, High Fives Foundation\, Mad River Valley Arts and so much more. \nTickets available soon. \nDoors open at 11:00 AM. DESCRIPTION:Mark the calendar for the Great Rotary Duck Race on September 3 at the Lareau Swim Hole. \nThe Mad River Valley Rotary Club is bringing the duck race back to The Valley. For the last dozen years\, the club has raised funds for the scholarships and grants it provides to Mad River Valley students and organizations with this event. In total\, over $100\,000 has been provided to the Mad River Valley courtesy of this fund raiser.\nJoin the Mad River Valley Rotary Club on September 3 at the Lareau Swim Hole for the quack of the starting gun as the racers head down the river. The sponsor of the winning duck will receive $1000 with second and third prizes of $500 and $250. \nDuck Race starts promptly at 3pm but bring the family for fun starting at 1pm with music\, food\, kids activities and more.
