DESCRIPTION:Madigan Linnane is an emerging musician with roots in Grafton Massachusetts and now resides in The Mad River Valley in Vermont. Her thoughtful lyrics\, drawn from emotional life experiences\, combine with a modern folk/pop/indie musical style producing songs that appeal to broad audiences. \nOver the last several years she has delighted listeners with performances in coffee shops\, restaurants\, country clubs\, farmer’s markets and a variety of private events. A versatile musician performing a mix of originals and covers\, Madigan plays acoustic guitar\, ukulele and piano and is best known for her velvety\, tender vocal style and original songwriting. Madigan took first place in Padavano’s Place 2018 Singer-Songwriter contest by performing 3 original songs including her Christmas song\, Snow Falls. Victor Infante of the Worcester Telegram wrote that she “…has a way of focusing on the joy her persona finds in other people’s delight\, a perspective that skirts the consumerism of the season.” \nMadigan began writing music when she was 10 years old and released her first EP entitled Beautiful Me in 2019\, containing 6 original songs chronicling the touching moments she experienced in her formative years. \nMadigan is currently attending Berklee College of Music to pursue her passion for music.

DESCRIPTION:What’s the big idea? As a freshman in college\, my first grade on a paper was a D-\nminus. When I spoke to the professor about my failure\, he told me I knew the\nmaterial\, the facts\, but had no Big Idea. This was a huge lesson then and has\nremained so ever since. \nConcept\, line and space drive the inquiry in my creative practice\, both as an architect\nand as an artist. In my work\, both line and space are constructed to serve an imagined — even\nirrational — beginning (The Big Idea). A conceptual narrative takes shape\, a backstory\nmight develop\, a fantasy or a metaphor might direct the path of the project. As I\nproceed in my design process a kind of acceptance of a new reality starts to inform\nme and a dialogue of choices and decisions take off.

DESCRIPTION:🌿We’re excited to announce our partnership with the Mad River Valley Libraries on a monthly environmental-themed book club. For January\, in partnership with the Moretown Library\, we’re excited to mix things up and watch a documentary instead! 🌿 \nWe’ll be watching and discussing two documentaries: \nThe first tells the story of the 1972 Rapid City flood in South Dakota. We’ll hear firsthand from the town’s residents about their experience on the day of the flood and from the town officials on steps taken afterward to prevent future flood devastation. The second is closer to home and talks a bit about a similar preventative technique but at a much smaller scale being applied in Montpelier in the aftermath of the July 2023 flood. \nThis event is free and open to the public. DESCRIPTION:What’s the big idea? As a freshman in college\, my first grade on a paper was a D-\nminus. When I spoke to the professor about my failure\, he told me I knew the\nmaterial\, the facts\, but had no Big Idea. This was a huge lesson then and has\nremained so ever since. \nConcept\, line and space drive the inquiry in my creative practice\, both as an architect\nand as an artist. In my work\, both line and space are constructed to serve an imagined — even\nirrational — beginning (The Big Idea). A conceptual narrative takes shape\, a backstory\nmight develop\, a fantasy or a metaphor might direct the path of the project. As I\nproceed in my design process a kind of acceptance of a new reality starts to inform\nme and a dialogue of choices and decisions take off.
