DESCRIPTION:MEETINGS\n\nThe DRB meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month\, 7:00 PM\, at the Waitsfield Town Office. Members are urged to let staff know as early as possible if they will be unable to attend a scheduled meeting so arrangements can be made to ensure a quorum. \nAgendas and Minutes \nMeeting Calendar (2023) \n\n\n\n\nDUTIES\n\nThe Waitsfield Development Review Board was established in 2007 by a resolution that transferred the development review functions of both the Planning Commission and the former Zoning Board of Adjustment to the new DRB.  The DRB’s responsibilities are laid out in both the Vermont State Statutes\, the Waitsfield Zoning Bylaws\, and the Waitsfield Subdivision Regulations. \nThe DRB performs an important and difficult job\, which is carried out by volunteers appointed by the Selectboard.  It is through this review of individual applications that the community’s vision\, goals\, policies\, and priorities–as expressed in the Waitsfield Town Plan and codified in our development regulations–are implemented.  At the same time\, DRB members and others participating in the process must respect due process\, the rights of applicants\, and the rights of the public to participate. \nThe DRB has the following duties (see 24 V.S.A. Section 4460): \n(1) Review of right-of-way or easement for land development without frontage as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4412(3); (2) Review of land development or use within an historic district or with respect to historic landmarks as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4414(1)(F)\n(3) Review of land development or use within a design control district as authorized in 24 V.S. A. 4414(1)(E);\n(4) Review of proposed conditional uses as authorized in 24 V.S. A. 4414(3);\n(5) Review of planned unit developments as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4417;\n(6) Review of requests for waivers as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4414(9);\n(7) Site plan review as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4416;\n(8) Review of proposed subdivisions as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4418;\n(9) Review of wireless telecommunications facilities as authorized in 24 V.S.A. 4414(12);\n(10) Appeals from a decision of the administrative officer pursuant to 24 V.S.A. 4465;\n(11) Review of requests for variances pursuant to 24 V.S.A. 4469; and\n(12) Any other reviews required by the bylaws.

SUMMARY:Clowning Around – Structured Silliness for 3.5-4 Year olds
DESCRIPTION:Structured silliness! Led by Kolleen & Bobby Kintz\, this class  for kids ages 3.5-4 years old will explore creative movement\, comedic expression and ensemble creation. Campers will play games\, move their bodies\, make music and find their funny. Students will share some of what they’ve learned at a showing for parents during the final class. This class will be a drop-off class; however\, there is a shared room in our space where parents can be close by and in sight\, if that is more comfortable for your child.\n\nPlease complete one form for each child who will be attending class.  We will send additional information about class procedures as we get closer to June 19th. Don’t hesitate to call Kolleen at 802-377-1742 or email kolleenkintz@gmail.com with any questions.\n\n\nKolleen Kintz attended Dell’Arte International School of Physical Theatre in 2010. Starting in 2011\, she and Bobby began training with Dody Disanto at The Center for Movement Theatre in Washington DC. They have performed with the DC Fringe Festival\, Zip Zap Circus and regularly at Clown Cabaret. In 2014\, the duo traveled to Haiti to volunteer with Clowns Without Borders and performed for over 5000 children. Kolleen later became a hospital clown for Healthy Humor and made rounds as Dr. Pickle at Johns Hopkins for 6 years.\n\nKolleen & Bobby Kintz have been teaching artists since 2013. Beginning their journey with the instruction of 3 & 4 year olds\, in Del Ray\, VA. Later developing their own circus camp for ages 5-13\, which ran in Baltimore at Morgan State University for 5 years. More recently\, the journey has been parenthood! It is very exciting to be offering this class to the community\, in our new hometown of Waitsfield.

Our market vendors are a carefully curated group of local Vermont businesses who provide the highest quality products to market. SUMMARY:The Local – An Evening w/ A Master Sommelier
DESCRIPTION:If you’re always eager to try new wines and are curious to learn about how wine is produced Down Under (and all over)\, then this educational tasting evening is for you. The night will feature five  Australian wines\, and\, of course\, refreshments.  This is hosted by master sommelier Jane Lopes.  Join us Friday\, June 23 at 6:30pm for a deep dive into Australian wines. \nWhat’s a Master Sommelier? Folks who earn this title are the world’s foremost experts on wine. It’s a pretty selective group – there are currently only 273 and only 25 women master sommeliers in the United States. \nLopes has enjoyed an amazing career in the wine industry. She’s worked at New York’s Eleven Madison Park\, Nashville’s The Catbird Seat\, Chicago’s The Violet Hour\, and\, most recently\, as the wine director at Attica\, one of Australia’s most celebrated restaurants. She was featured on Esquire network’s 2015 television series Uncorked\, which follows six New York City sommeliers in pursuit of the master sommelier title (which she attained in 2018). In September of 2019\, she published her first book\, a personal and educational guide to wine called Vignette: Stories of Life and Wine in 100 Bottles. And in 2020\, she and her husband Jonathan Ross co-founded their own Australian wine imports company: Legend. \nSeating is limited.
