We accessorize\, cosmeticize\, gender-ize and interiorize to the point of being ‘tickled pink’. In the animal and floral world pink as hue and shade exists multifold. Whether to shock\, protest or code the millennials\, pink has survived the test of time. This show examines the fluid origins of PINK in ‘natural’ and/or ‘cultural’ contexts. In celebration of this beer\, we will kick festivities off at 4:00pm on September 21st with an American Sign Language class for any public wishing to attend. This fun\, beginner-friendly class will be the perfect prelude to an evening supporting and celebrating Vermont’s Deaf community\, with Vermont Deaf Night Out convening here at the Taproom starting at 5:00pm. \n  \nDeaf Glow IPA is part of Lawson’s Finest Liquids series of Good Brews for a Cause\, with a portion of proceeds from the sale of this beer benefitting the Vermont Association of the Deaf and their support of the Yolande Henry Community Foundation\, which provides interpretive services that are not covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act. \n  \nAdditionally\, this beer will only be available in super limited quantity. DESCRIPTION:Old Round Church Concert Series \nThe Old Round Church 2024 Concert Series continues on September 21st at 7 PM in the Old Round Church located on Round Church Road in Richmond. The featured performers will be the band Mama Tried\, an all-gal bluegrass\, country folk and blues string band. This Vermont-based band features Rebecca Padula’s smokin’ vocals\, Linda Kallinger’s fine fiddlin’\, “Ukulele” Clare Innes on the uke and banjo\, and Kathy Mulligan laying down the bassline. Enjoy new and old favorites that’ll have you humming all the way home. Suggested donation of $15 to benefit the upkeep of the Old Round Church and the projects of the Richmond Historical Society. SUMMARY:Tuesday Tunes: Bloodroot Gap
DESCRIPTION:Formed after a serendipitous jam session at a Vermont bluegrass festival\, Bloodroot Gap is a musical collaboration between brothers Rob and Jim McCuen (Swing Noire)\, Freeman Corey (Catamount Crossing\, Big Spike Bluegrass) and Jake Munson. \nCorey\, a fiddle player who grew up on a dairy farm in Benson\, is the son of a fine\, old-time fiddler. He started playing at age 10\, learning hundreds of Irish\, Scottish and French-Canadian fiddle tunes from his father. Corey has become one of Vermont’s most sought-after traditional fiddlers\, gracing the stage with Bob Amos and Catamount Crossing\, Big Spike Bluegrass\, The Haymakers and Spare Parts among countless other notable groups and musicians. \nThe McCuen Brothers have been performing side-by-side for nearly 30 years\, founding the bands Wiley Dobbs\, Acoustic Undermind\, and Swing Noire\, and sharing the stage with the likes of Frank Vignola\, Jamie Masefield\, Charlie Hunter and Doug Perkins. The brothers provide tight vocal harmonies and rhythmic accompaniment\, as only twins can. Rob dazzles audiences with his fluid solos on mandolin and guitar\, while Jim holds down the low end on upright bass.

In our time together\, you’ll learn the basic steps and rhythm of the dance\, how to connect with your partner\, and several fun moves that will keep you 2-stepping for years to come.\nNo partner necessary\, please bring shoes that allow you to shuffle and spin without much resistance. Best suited for ages 14 and up. Donations of $5-15 per class are greatly appreciated but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.\nWe look forward to dancing with you this fall!

DESCRIPTION:Susan Day\, who has been touring Italy for over 20 years (mostly by bicycle)\, will lead participants on a journey of the contemporary Italian countryside–with a bit of language thrown in. She’ll share information about the different geographic regions\, and what makes them unique\, particularly when it comes to food and wine. Participants will practice helpful words and phrases\, laugh at themselves as they pronounce double constants and the Italian “r”\, translate menus\, and spend at least one session cooking.\nA presto!
