People of all ages may submit their haiku about bears using this form: https://forms.gle/f17U5tWVMHtVqeoF7\nor by picking up a paper copy at any of the MRV Libraries. Submissions will be accepted until April 30. \nWhat are Haiku\, again?\nHaiku are a form of poetry originating in Japan. Each haiku contains seventeen syllables divided into three lines. The first and last line each contain five syllables while the second line contains seven syllables. Here’s a bear-themed haiku by Megan Sharkey of Alaska: \nGarbage on the porch\nis the best way to get a\nbear on short notice \nWe welcome submissions by children\, teens\, and adults. DESCRIPTION:We are sorry to report that the 2025 LEAP Energy Fair that was to be held on Sat. April 5 has been cancelled.\n\nOur usual venue\, the Crossett Brook Middle School\, was flooded recently\, and the gym where the fair takes place will not be available in time for the event. At this late date\, our LEAP volunteers have not been able to find a replacement venue that meets our needs\, our schedule\, or the schedule of our exhibitors and speakers. If you or someone you know planned to attend the fair please let them know it is cancelled and update your calendars.\n\nWe hope to host a workshop event this Spring\, will plan to hold our usual EV fest this summer and look forward to next year’s Energy Fair.
