This workshop will be offered the last Friday of every month (most months). \nThis is a one time\, two hour introduction to learn the basics of wheel throwing. \nYou will be guided from a ball of clay to your first bowl or cup. Using a simple to understand process\, you will learn the foundational techniques needed to enjoy this meditative and somewhat magical craft. Most students will successfully throw at least 2 pots which will be fired and finished by us\, ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks. If you throw more than 2 that you would like to keep we can finish them as well for $15/pot (first 2 are included). Shipping is available for additional fees.

DESCRIPTION:Waitsfield\, VT — The Stark Mountain Foundation is excited to announce a new series of free\, family-friendly naturalist hikes on Stark Mountain\, led by Vermont Master Naturalist Gene O. Desideraggio. These guided hikes offer a unique opportunity to explore the mountain’s diverse ecosystems throughout the changing seasons. \nFrom vibrant spring wildflowers to the brilliant colors of fall foliage\, participants will immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the Green Mountains. Along the way\, Gene will help hikers discover signs of wildlife\, listen for bird calls echoing through the forest\, spot animal tracks on the trail\, or even find a well-worn bear tree. \nThe hikes will take place from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the last Saturday of every month:\nMay 31\, June 28\, July 26\, August 30\, September 27\, and October 25 \nAfter each hike\, participants are invited to unwind at the Mad River Glen Stark’s Pub\, where they can grab a bite or a drink and enjoy the stunning mountain views. \nThe hikes are free\, but registration is required and space is limited. \nTo register or learn more\, visit:\nbit.ly/NatureHikes2025

To commemorate this special anniversary\, BigTown is thrilled to collaborate with Kyle Bergman\, founder of the Architecture & Design Film Festival\, to present three immersive community gatherings this summer. These events will spotlight the themes of community building\, activism\, and innovation\, and are designed to enrich the conversations sparked by BigTown’s summer exhibition\, Being Here Now\, and the second annual My Place Photography Workshop.
