DESCRIPTION:What’s the big idea? As a freshman in college\, my first grade on a paper was a D-\nminus. When I spoke to the professor about my failure\, he told me I knew the\nmaterial\, the facts\, but had no Big Idea. This was a huge lesson then and has\nremained so ever since. \nConcept\, line and space drive the inquiry in my creative practice\, both as an architect\nand as an artist. In my work\, both line and space are constructed to serve an imagined — even\nirrational — beginning (The Big Idea). A conceptual narrative takes shape\, a backstory\nmight develop\, a fantasy or a metaphor might direct the path of the project. SUMMARY:MRV Women In Business Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The next meeting of the MRV Women in Business group will meet on Tuesday February 13 a the Tucker Hill Inn. The meeting will start at 5:30 pm. \nThe meeting will star off with 30 minutes to mingle followed by our speaker program. The topic for this month’s meeting will be tax season best practices for self employed women. CPA\, Michele Eid of Hall and Holden will be on hand to present and answer questions. \nMichele A Eid is the President and Sole Owner of Hall & Holden\, P.C.. She is a CPA with 28+ years of experience in taxes.  Prior to starting with Hall & Holden PC in 1995\, she held various jobs in the valley since 1979 including banking\,  manager of Fayston Country Store\, office manager at Dirt Road Company\, Assistant Controller at River Computer\, Accounting department at Sugarbush Resort and self employed bookkeeper and tax preparer. She has been active with various organizations in the valley and enjoys fishing\, camping\, and traveling in her limited spare time. \nThe MRV Women in Business group meets every other month throughout the year\, generally on Tuesday evenings. Speakers are often invited to present at the meetings. \nThe Mad River Valley Women in Business group is a network of women business leaders in our community who have come together to unite\, support\, connect and grow. The group began in 2021 as we were in the midst of big changes within our local economy. There was a surge of new  businesses starting\, an influx of people moving into the community exacerbating an already difficult housing market\, existing establishments  were turning over and chamber membership  was growing.  Much of this change is being driven by women in our community.  There is a strong desire  within the MRV Chamber ‘s leadership to develop and support a vehicle for women to work together to support one another\, access information and resources\, achieve business goals and promote the greater good in the MRV.
