SUMMARY:StorySki
DESCRIPTION:The Stark Mountain Foundation will be sponsoring the 7th Annual StorySki on Saturday\, February 22\, 2025\, from 10:30 to 2:30. The StorySki is based on the idea of the StoryWalk\, a project that originated in Montpelier at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library and has spread throughout the world. Laminated pages from a children’s book are installed along an outdoor path. As you stroll down the trail\, you’re directed to the next page in the story. It was created as a way for children to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time. \nThis year’s book\, “Wake Up\, Moon” by Lita Judge is about an energetic squirrel who isn’t ready to give up on winter fun and go to bed in this cozy picture book about animal friends who spend an unforgettable night romping in the snow! The snowstorm is over. The stars are out. But one little squirrel is not in bed. He’s having far too much fun building snow animals and gliding and skating on glittering ice with his friends Squirrel\, Owl\, Fox\, and Bear…until drowsy eyes and sleepy yawns begin to slow the animals’ steps. Could it finally be time for Squirrel to turn in for the night? \nPre-registration for the event is strongly encouraged. Register Here! The event is free\, but everyone will need a lift ticket to participate. \nThe Stark Mountain Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Waitsfield\, VT The mission of the Stark Mountain Foundation is to preserve and protect the environment and ecosystem of General Stark Mountain\, including its recreational access and historic value\, and to support programs that promote and sustain that environment for the enjoyment of present and future generations. \nAbout the Stark Mountain Foundation

DESCRIPTION:Mad River Valley Arts (Mad Arts) presents Lisa Dimondstein\, Julie Parker and Sandra Shenk in Abstract^2. \nThese three women photographers are dedicated to radicalizing the photo as image. \nThey abstract from a pre-existing abstract sculpture with the aim to capture the essential properties and relationships of the original abstract concept\, and in doing so they remove themselves from any context or specific content or representation. The process involves eliminating any reference to real-world objects or situations and to focus only on the inherent structures and relationships. \nThe Cold Hollow Sculpture Park\, in Enosburg Falls\, has over 70 large abstract sculptures by renowned artist David Stromeyer. The photographs of Lisa\, Julie and Sandra\nare inventive abstractions from David’s sculpture. SUMMARY:Abstract^2
They utilize an in-camera multiple exposure technique to explore the intricate relationship between color\, texture\, movement\, line and form.
