DESCRIPTION:Mad River Valley Arts (Mad Arts) presents Lisa Dimondstein\, Julie Parker and Sandra Shenk in Abstract^2. \nThese three women photographers are dedicated to radicalizing the photo as image. \nThey abstract from a pre-existing abstract sculpture with the aim to capture the essential properties and relationships of the original abstract concept\, and in doing so they remove themselves from any context or specific content or representation. The process involves eliminating any reference to real-world objects or situations and to focus only on the inherent structures and relationships. \nThe Cold Hollow Sculpture Park\, in Enosburg Falls\, has over 70 large abstract sculptures by renowned artist David Stromeyer. The photographs of Lisa\, Julie and Sandra\nare inventive abstractions from David’s sculpture. They utilize an in-camera multiple exposure technique to explore the intricate relationship between color\, texture\, movement\, line and form.

It is a one run event on Saturday\, the primary venue is Lift Line accessible from the Single Chair. \nWeather  \nStay tuned to the mountain forecast. \nCategories\n·         Female & Male Ski \nRegistration Information \nThere is no day-of registration. Competitors and spectators will need to check in and collect bibs\, ticket vouchers and event information on the 3rd floor of the Basebox.\n·         Lift tickets are required for competitors – a $70 ticket voucher will be given out at bib pick-up to each visiting competitor. This discount ticket voucher will then need to be redeemed at the ticket booth in order to purchase a discounted competitor ticket.\n·         We will offer (up to 2 per athlete) $89 spectator vouchers. Discount ticket vouchers will be issued at bib pick-up and will then need to be redeemed at the ticket booth to purchase a discounted spectator ticket. \nVenue\nThe venue will be Lift Line under the Single Chair. The length of the course will run roughly from Tower 12 down to the finish just above Tower 9. Lift Line is our primary venue but it is subject to change at the discretion of the Technical Director depending on conditions on the day of the event. \nEvent Timeline\nSaturday\, February 8th \nCheck-in/Bib Pick up 8:00 – 9:00 AM \nSafety Meeting 9:00 AM\nCourse Inspection 9:30-10:30 AM \nEvent Start 11:00 AM \nEvent Finish 2:00 PM \nAwards Deck of the Single 4:20 PM \nVenue Inspection Information\n·         Venue inspection is mandatory for all athletes.\n·         Only registered competitors and IFSA certified coaches are allowed on venue.\n·         During inspection\, athletes must be aware of everyone else around them.\n·         On the day of competition athletes must have an opportunity to have access to the competition venue to inspect the terrain and features within the venue. If the venue must be changed or altered significantly\, after the initial venue inspection\, athletes must have an opportunity for another inspection. \n\nSlow riding/skiing is mandatory during venue inspection.\n·         The Technical Director and/or head judge may disqualify a competitor from the competition for riding fast or recklessly during inspection.\n·         Athletes may not practice\, session or rehearse a line during inspection or jump/drop any features within the venue boundary.\n·         In blind areas it is advised that athletes verbally announce themselves to make others aware of their presence and intended next move/position.\n·         Athletes are to be respectful of fellow athletes\, coaches\, and officials during inspection.\n·         Athletes should be kind to the snow while inspecting.\n·         Terrain enhancement will not be tolerated\, any coach or competitor found altering the venue in any way without prior consent from the Technical Director will be expelled from the competition and black listed for future events – this is a ZERO tolerance policy.\n·         Infractions of inspection rules may result in disqualification from the event.All competitors must wear a helmet and back protector. \nClick here for information on IFSA JUDGING CRITERIA\n\nSPONSORS:

The process involves eliminating any reference to real-world objects or situations and to focus only on the inherent structures and relationships. \nThe Cold Hollow Sculpture Park\, in Enosburg Falls\, has over 70 large abstract sculptures by renowned artist David Stromeyer. The photographs of Lisa\, Julie and Sandra\nare inventive abstractions from David’s sculpture. They utilize an in-camera multiple exposure technique to explore the intricate relationship between color\, texture\, movement\, line and form.
