DESCRIPTION:The Dale and Darcy band is composed of veteran acoustic musicians who play together at farmer’s markets\, fairs\, fes­tivals\, weddings\, in bars and taverns and anywhere people appreciate a lively tune. \nTheir music is clean\, crisp and clear. They have entertained guests every Saturday at The Von Trapp Family Brewery and Bakery for the past five summers and it is during that time that they developed the sweet harmonies  and uncomplicated tunes you will find on their album. The tenor banjo\, fiddles\, mandolin\, guitar and vocals create a sound that is pleasing to listen to\, to dance to or to have playing quietly in the background. While some of the tunes are familiar favorites\, others are simply their favorites\, the tunes that have made a lasting impression on us all.

DESCRIPTION:One of the pioneers of the Prickly Mountain design/build movement\, architect Jim Sanford will give a presentation on the construction of the Dimetrodon\, a truly unique example of multifamily housing. Jim will discuss how the design/build process influenced the final building\, why the architects felt it important to prioritize multifamily living\, and what they would or would not do again. Go under the hood of one of Vermont’s most iconic residential buildings from the perspective of its original designers\, builders\, and inhabitants. \nThis talk is presented as part of our Fall 2025 Speaker Series. All talks are free and open to the public\, and take place Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 pm. No registration required\, just drop by. \nTwice a year\, we curate a series of lectures on a design/build theme. This Fall we are tackling part two of our “Innovative Homes” series\, this time focusing in on multi-family homes. We’ll discuss different ways cities and towns are approaching sustainable housing development and affordability through case studies of unique living spaces.

DESCRIPTION:Please come join us for a Catamount Trail Work Day from Lincoln Gap to West Hill Road on Sunday\, Nov. 2nd. (Rain/Bad Weather date Nov 9th). This is a great way to explore and build a connection with this remote section of the CT before the snow comes! \nMEET: 9:00 AM on West Hill Road in Warren\, about ¼-mile south of the West Hill House B&B. \nDURATION: For those who have the time and inclination to cover the whole section\, it usually takes around 5 hours depending on how much work there is to be done. If you can only make it for an hour or two\, we’d still be grateful for your help! You can head in directly from West Hill Road and work toward the south on an out-and-back for whatever time you can spare. \nCAR LOGISTICS: Leaving a couple cars at West Hill Rd\, we will carpool to Lincoln Gap on the Warren side\, hike up the closed section of the road\, and then work our way north on the Trail down to West Hill Road. \nWHAT TO WEAR/BRING: After walking up Lincoln Gap Rd\, the terrain is rugged\, remote and wet in places – waterproof boots\, work gloves\, gaiters\, warm layers\, food\, water\, and hot drinks recommended. We’ll have several pairs of loppers to share\, a hand saw\, and a chainsaw\, but if you have your own favorite trail tools\, feel free to bring them along. We haven’t been open for the last two games as they are night games and we don’t like to be up late. Apparently the Steelers felt the same way as they came away with 2 losses. But this game is a day game at the “hallowed” Acrisure Stadium. Just kidding\, we still call it Heinz Field or the Big Ketchup Bottle. So hopefully they can get back on track. But as any true Steeler fan knows\, if you aren’t actively watching the game\, concentrating on the game\, yelling at the game\, you aren’t giving off the energy the team needs and if they lose\, it’s probably your fault\, because you didn’t care enough or give off the right energy. So if you are a Steelers fan be sure to come out to the only Steelers Bar in the state and focus your attention on the game and maybe a pierogi or sandwich. \nWe will have our regular pittsburgh based menu with pierogies\, bologna and fries and slaw on our sandwiches. \nKick off is at 1pm with doors open at 12:30. All NFL fans and fans of good food are welcome! But we only play the Steelers game on TV. \nHere We Go!!!!!

DESCRIPTION:Sammy Blanchette\, aka Sammy B\, is a New England based singer/songwriter multi-instrumentalist who’s career spans nearly two decades. His performance career began primarily out of Southern Connecticut and has since found a primary home in Southern Vermont in the Okemo Valley as of 2018. Like most start up musicians\, Sammy began playing out in bars and nightclubs at age 13 as well as sitting in with multiple Southern CT bands\, including Hubinger St. which he became the full time bass player from 2010 to 2018. His style of work on electric and acoustic guitar ranges from a broad mix of rock\, jazz\, reggae\, blues and jam band styles.

We are an experimental testing ground for new construction technologies\, material assemblies\, and creative solutions to our clients’ challenges. Join CO Adaptive’s co-founder and principal Ruth Mandl\, to discuss some of their recent small-scale\, multifamily renovation and retrofit projects in New York City. \nThis talk is presented as part of our Fall 2025 Speaker Series. All talks are free and open to the public\, and take place Wednesday evenings from 6:30 – 8 pm. No registration required\, just drop by. \nTwice a year\, we curate a series of lectures on a design/build theme. This Fall we are tackling part two of our “Innovative Homes” series\, this time focusing in on multi-family homes.
