DESCRIPTION:Here’s your chance to try your hand at the potter’s wheel! This workshop will be offered the last Friday of every month (most months). \nThis is a one time\, two hour introduction to learn the basics of wheel throwing. \nYou will be guided from a ball of clay to your first bowl or cup. Using a simple to understand process\, you will learn the foundational techniques needed to enjoy this meditative and somewhat magical craft. Most students will successfully throw at least 2 pots which will be fired and finished by us\, ready to pick up in approximately 3 weeks. If you throw more than 2 that you would like to keep we can finish them as well for $15/pot (first 2 are included). Shipping is available for additional fees.

We’ll have the chance to take a walk and look for birds\, flip rocks in the stream in search of bugs\, and take part in fun activities like a scavenger hunt and demonstrations of popular nature apps. \nThis event is free\, meant for all ages and welcomes families with children! Along the way\, Gene will help hikers discover signs of wildlife\, listen for bird calls echoing through the forest\, spot animal tracks on the trail\, or even find a well-worn bear tree. \nAfter each hike\, participants are invited to unwind at the Mad River Glen Stark’s Pub\, where they can grab a bite or a drink and enjoy the stunning mountain views. \nThe hikes are free\, but registration is required and space is limited.
