Who We Are
MRV EATS is a local grass roots non profit currently being incubated by the Mad River Valley Community Fund. We aim to build a stronger, more resilient community by spreading positivity, appreciation and ‘food cheer’ while at the same time supporting the local food service economy.
What We Do
Using funds that are generously donated by individuals and organizations, we give local community members the ‘gift of food’. These gifts are distributed in the form of coupons to local restaurants. When redeemed, MRV Eats pays the restaurant.
We like to think of it as CSG (community supported gifting) and spreading ‘food cheer’. Anyone can be a recipient, but we love focusing on local heroes and those we feel deserve some extra appreciation.
Since starting the program we have gifted over $3,000 in ‘food cheer’ to busy parents, educators, restaurant workers, families in need, grocery workers, child care providers, farmers and more.
In addition, we work with local organizations like the Mad River Valley Food Shelf to help find new and innovative ways to bring quality nourishment with zero stigma to community members who are experiencing food insecurity.
How your donations works for the community:
When you donate to MRVEats your money goes into the hands of individuals and families in the community in the form of a GIFT to be used in local restaurants
Participating restaurants prepare delicious meals and get paid for them
By supporting local restaurants, we are also supporting local tax revenue, employment, farming, manufacturing, local purchasing and so much more
