They will brainstorm together “Woog characteristics” (spikes? teeth? and more). \nKids will be introduced to light hand sewing techniques and creative ways to reuse old materials such as socks\, fabric scraps etc. They will be encouraged to let their imaginations run wild! \nThis “woogshop” is recommended for kids 6 yrs and older. Her character Miss Rumphius said\, “You must do something to make the world more beautiful.” And that is exactly what Barbara did. \nFollowing the reading\, there will be a watercolor flower craft for the children!! \nAngela Burke Kunkel is also the author of “Digging for Words: José Alberto Gutiérrez and the Library He Built\,” an ALA-ALSC Notable Children’s Book and winner of both the Américas Award and International Latino Book Award.
