SUMMARY:MRVBC Tour of the Phen Basin
DESCRIPTION:Skiers will ascend into the Phen Basin of the Camel’s Hump State Park on Section 19 of the Catamount Trail to explore the Hemlock Hill area. \nClimbing skins will be required. Advanced skiers will enjoy downhill turns through the unmanaged hardwood forest. This is a five-hour tour. There is often an informal apres as well. \nFall Trail Days\nIf you enjoy working in the woods and have some time to spare\, please join the Valley’s Catamount Trail Assn Trail Chiefs in the their annual effort to clear the Catamount Trail of blow-downs\, branches\, and brush. \nThings You’ll Need \nYou’ll need lunch\, water\, long pants\, layers\, work gloves\, hiking boots\, an orange hunting vest or similar during hunting season\, and a pair of loppers or handsaw. Bring a friend\, give back to the trails you enjoy\, and help CTA provide trail users with great experiences this winter.
